Obama, What’s Next?

Obama is like a twelve year old whose skateboard and video game privileges have been taken away. His petulant attitude was in full bloom at the health care summit this week.

Eric Cantor and John Boehner, along with John McCain and other Republicans, made the Democrats look pretty silly at times. Every Democrat that spoke had to come out with the obligatory sad health care sob story, no matter how improbable. Rep. Louise Slaughter (D) NY told how one of her constituents had to wear her dead sister’s false teeth. I guess these Democrats have got to be collectively tone deaf, because they sure don’t hear themselves the way we hear them.

Conversely, I was totally impressed with Minority Leader John Boehner and the Republicans, their grasp of the bill and the solid refutations that they presented to President Obama, despite being held to a mere 110 minutes as opposed to a full 222 minutes for Obama and his Democrats, with the bulk of the time being taken up by President Obama continually interrupting Republicans when he didn’t like what he was being told, which was most of the time. His facade of bi-partisanship went out with his opening statement.

Obama closed the meeting with the admonition that he would hope to hear from Republicans within weeks, four or uhh, maybe six weeks. President Obama, don’t hold your breath. The Republicans stood their ground and did themselves proud. The longer this bill hangs around, the deader it looks and despite (The House Madam) Nancy Pelosi’s statement saying we would have a bill regardless, it’s looking more like the out-and-out voter rebellion has had its toll most especially on the so-called Blue Dog Democrats.

Look for the illegal immigration issue to lift its scaly snout again soon. The illegals and their advocate groups, such as the extremely radical La Raza, are planning a mass march on Washington.
This time they may find that they are met by a very large contingent of patriots.

Clock Ticks – Israel Faces Off With Enemies.

Before I get into the cauldron simmering in the Middle East, I want to revisit the ‘health care summit’ and an article written by Joe Klein of TIME/CNN. If there is a better example of why the ‘lamestream’ press are becoming extinct in this country I haven’t seen one.

Mr Klein was apparently elsewhere during the hearing and depended on ‘tea leaves’ for his reporting. Read: ‘I don’t know anything about this but I’ll pass judgment based on second hand garbage from other lefty sources’. Klein’s article was a misrepresentation from beginning to end. Joe, your boy Obama was on the defensive the whole time. The only way he had to protect himself from the very cogent points being presented by the Republicans was to repeatedly cut them off and go off on some obscure posturing or another. Despite being held to only one hundred and ten minutes the Republican lawmakers made the Democrats and President Obama look pretty damn silly.

Events in the Middle East are becoming more dangerous by the day following talks in Damascus, with Syria calling for military support from Iran in the event of war with Israel. Iran has been ginning up the image of war with Israel in talks with Syria, Lebanon and Hizballah.

Ahmadinejad and Assad

Iranian President Ahmadinejad, in a series of phone calls with Syrian President Assad, Lebanese President General Michel Suleiman and Hizballah leader Hassan Nasrallah, said that Israel is after finding a way to compensate for the ‘defeat’ they suffered at the hands of Hizballah in Lebanon.

Despite this nonsense Israel’s hand may be forced soon. The on-again off-again Russian missile deal is apparently back on again. Israel has been beefing its anti-missile and civil defense postures considerably. IDF training has been going on at a fevered pitch. The new long distance drones are operational and could conceivably take some of the pressure off of the IAF by performing deep penetration real time surveillance and targeted strikes, leaving the more difficult precision strikes to the IAF fighter and fighter-bomber strike forces.

The Heron TP Drone. The IAF are also currently engaged in exercises to 'rapid refuel' aircraft while on the runway.

There are reportedly some 45,000 rockets and missiles in Lebanon ready to rain down on Israeli towns and cities. Our own Coward-in-Chief has sent our national security adviser and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to ‘ensure’ that Israel doesn’t do anything rash… like defend themselves and their country. One would hope that the Israelis told them to put it where the sun doesn’t shine, but they’re more diplomatic than that. One thing is for sure, when they do decide to go they won’t be asking Obama for permission.

Too tempting to pass up? Iran, in a puzzling move, has taken virtually its entire stock of 4,300 lbs of low-enriched uranium to an above ground facility from storage in a hardened facility underground.
It’s like they are begging Israel to do its worst… and they might just find out that Israel’s worst is likely to be Iran’s worst nightmare.

Humbug – Obama Dog And Pony Phony.

Humbug is quaint Americana for something false, phony or underhanded.
President Obama was his usual arrogant self as he demonstrated bi-partisanship to the seventeen Congressional Republicans who attended his health care extravaganza.

Repeatedly interrupting Republican speakers and refuting factual representations made to him, the President’s idea of bi-partisanship comprised of one hundred and nineteen minutes of Obama-dominated campaign mode lecturing. The Washington Times stated he looked very professorial… a title he never held.

Republicans were held to a mere one hundred and ten minutes while the twenty one Democrats attending the meeting were allowed one hundred and fourteen minutes, during which they dredged up story after story of constituents medical woes in support of their boss, some of which stretched the imaginations of those present. It was the usual Democrat hysteria-inducing sob-story tactic we’ve all heard so many times before. You’d think they’d wise up to the fact that we’re on to it.

For the Republicans’ part they pretty much stuck to what they said they’d do, which was to stipulate that the entire piece of legislation should be scrapped and started over from scratch.

Eric Cantor with the 2,400 page Senate Health Care Bill.

Obama was also offended at Representative Eric Cantor (R) Virginia, for bringing the two thousand four hundred page health care bill to the meeting and prominently displaying the bill in front of him as he spoke. The President interrupted Republican speakers, refuting statements and giving somewhat unlikely anecdotes. At one point Obama got into a peeing match with Senator John McCain, where he petulantly quipped “We’re not campaigning here John”.

All in all, the Democrats not only didn’t cover themselves with glory, they looked pretty silly. The Democrats are trumpeting the use of the reconciliation process, since President Obama has said he wants an answer from the Republicans within six weeks, presumably giving Democrats enough time to see if they can come up with the requisite votes.

That’s not at all a done deal either, for all the Democrat bloviating.
Eric Cantor, the Minority House Whip, and his team have come up with some pretty solid calculations showing that the House Madame may only be able to come up with about 205 of the 217 votes she needs.
From your lips to God’s ears, Eric.

Reconciliation – Obama’s Last Gasp Marxist Power Grab.

Reeling from defeats in Virginia, New Jersey  and Massachusetts, Obama’s dramatic legislative agenda to fundamentally change Americans’ lives and the structure of our free society is in a shambles. His credibility within his own party is wearing very thin as frightened Democrats seek high ground from the rising tide of public anger.

Obama, his administration and the Democrat-dominated House and Senate have consistently operated in direct opposition to the will of the American people. We’ve been subjected to layer after layer of lies and disinformation, telling us that what we saw and heard with our own eyes and ears wasn’t true.

They have fabricated an alternative universe of statist nirvana that they want to force us to enter to satisfy their dreams of absolute power over us. Americans won’t put up with this, now or ever. If they think they saw a couple of million Americans on the march at the Tea Party event in Washington, they haven’t seen anything yet.

If Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid think that they can ram health care through using the RECONCILIATION process they may be biting off more than they can chew. For one thing, it’s not at all clear whether they can muster the required number of Senate votes to pull it off at this juncture, given the Democrat mad scramble for political cover with November looming larger by the day and increasingly angry, vocal constituents lurking over their shoulders. It’s not nearly the slam dunk deal Harry Reid, Pelosi and their slavish statist press are portraying it to be.

The obvious factoid that they are trying to get their colleagues in the House and Senate to ignore, is that if they were to push this monstrosity through using reconciliation and Obama signed it into law the public’s fury would know no bounds. We’re not nearly as dense as they wish we were. We would understand perfectly what a massive distortion of the legislative process this would be! We would also understand that it was being used in order to avoid the will of the people.

Obama has ’summoned’ Republicans to a health care ’summit’ for which he has a ready-made bill, the House and Senate versions combined, to which he has presumably added a few twists of his own which he will present to Republicans as his grand fait accompli. Republicans need to stick to their guns and demand that the bill be scrapped and started over. They should wear the mantle of the PARTY OF NO proudly, for that is precisely what we wish them to say.

America will stand with them as long as they stand for us, God, truth and the Constitution of this great country.
Get on the phone, send your faxes and emails. Write letters and flood representatives’ offices with your visits. Talk to your friends and neighbors and get them to do the same. Now is the time for ACTION!!
