While I Was Gone…

In writing, especially in the era of the new media, you’re only as good as your last publication… in our case, that was a couple of weeks ago. Dee, my fearless editor, and I both have full time careers. Dee in particular has an awful lot on her plate… I honestly don’t understand how she does it all.

We’ve experienced a sort of enforced hiatus due to a long overdue hiatal hernia reduction that I should have taken care of years ago. The operation, as such, went extremely well, except that I contracted pneumonia as a result of the anesthesia… so I spent a couple of extra days at the VA hospital up at Palo Alto. Great hospital, superb care… but undoubtedly the worst place there is to get any rest. So, I’ve spent the last few days luxuriating in rest and unbroken sleep.

Nothing bores me worse than other people’s health issues, and rightly so… it has no place here. But I felt that we owed an explanation to our regular readers. My stay at the hospital did give me a chance to watch the Republican National Convention in detail… much more so than I ever could have, otherwise.

Most of our national television coverage is so leftward leaning and so badly in lockstep with MaoBama and his DeMarxists that they themselves scarcely know fact from fiction. The Convention, by and large, was a spectacular success in introducing the country to a very strong Republican ticket. It’s a strong conservative ticket with something the DeMarxists don’t have, thanks to all you Patriots out there… we’ve got a deep conservative bench. Thanks to all of the American Patriots (read: Tea Party) out there, we have a real shot at turning this country around.

It’s also pointed out fatal weaknesses in the Republican establishment’s mind-set. It’s obvious to me, and to most dedicated conservatives, that Mitt Romney’s selection of Paul Ryan over the (more ‘acceptable’) choices of the RINO crowd, such as Rob Portman or Crispy Cream Chris Christie, went against the dumbed-down vanilla beltway crowd.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan complement each other in so many different areas that it’s easy to see why the country is excited. This is a winning ticket. Look around the country and you’ll see Tea Party endorsed candidate after candidate winning in both local and state elections and primaries. Don’t think it hasn’t been noticed by the DeMarxists, either. As they get more and more desperate they increasingly become a clear and present danger to your freedom, to our freedom, and the promise of a free and independent life for our children and grandchildren.

This is it. It’s the whole nine yards right here and right now. We have our marching orders. Now let’s go out and do it!

Ryan… The Real Deal.

Paul Ryan scares the living daylights out of the DeMarxists. With good reason. He was the perfect choice for Mitt Romney, whom many conservatives considered to be too vanilla, too privileged, too rich and out of touch with ‘the common man’. More importantly, he was viewed as another inside-the-beltway Republican selection.

Conservatives, deeply mistrustful of what we have come to recognize as the Republicrat establishment who brought us magnificent beltway failures such as Bob Dole and my favorite, John ‘You can’t do it my friend’ McCain, were understandably leery of what they saw as another insider pick. Many still are.

Conservative patriots saw Romney as soft on illegal immigration and, worse, pro government-run healthcare vis à vis his Massachusetts health care plan. Coming at a time when the country had been virtually taken over by a Marxist cabal bent on turning this country into a third-world swamp, to forever bind its citizens to the slavish penury of communism. He was seen as too compromised and too weak to take on the DeMarxists.

Further, his savaging of each of his Republican challengers in turn gained him no friends among the one core block of Americans he had to have to win… the oft misidentified Tea Party Patriots. We saw his campaign as soft and very reluctant to take on Barack Hussein Obama, fearing the constant mantra of racism, which is the DeMarxist stock-in-trade. A brief look at Tea Party victories all over the country since 2010 shows the absolute necessity of having our unqualified support. More to the point, we are not a bit reluctant to take on MaoBama and his thugs.

It wasn’t looking good from our perspective. In point of fact, I could see another Republican insider failure looming high on the horizon. Very scary stuff. At the speed which MaoBama’s Marxist regime was, and is, moving to destroy our constitutional republic, I couldn’t see how we, as a free people, could survive to get another shot at this thing in 2016.

Enter Paul Ryan. I was somewhat shocked, but none-the-less delighted, when Romney announced his selection for a running mate. I had really feared that he would go with one more beltway pick, as the Republicrats kept trolling out one insider after another. Some of the more or less acceptable picks out there on the ‘short list’ had fatal flaws, such as Marco Rubio, who for all his patriotism is soft on illegal immigration. They even pulled Jeb Bush’s name out of their magician’s hat. Puh-lease… no more Bushies… not for at least a lifetime or so.

Paul Ryan has been called the intellectual leader of the Congress. It’s about damned time someone in Congress showed some intellect. That’s the subject for another whole article. Suffice to say, our entire Republican leadership has failed us time after time with their insider timidity and pandering to whichever political wind was blowing (read: ‘swamp gas’).

Ryan scares the hell out of the establishment, and the DeMarxists as well. Conservatives will remember that in a brief five minutes he destroyed Barack Hussein’s entire healthcare scheme, in their only face-to-face encounter thus far. Romney is no fool. He is a consummate businessman who understands how money works and how to generate it. He is a self-made man. He was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth, as the left is trying to portray him. He has certainly faced his share of life’s vagaries.

Paul Ryan is going to be the rapier which Mitt Romney will plunge into the heart of the Marxist monster that threatens to destroy our lives and our freedom. There will be a price to be paid for Barack Hussein’s lawlessness, come November.
Let’s see that Obama pays that price.

Incredibly Inept Or Incredibly Wimpy? Who’s Leading Who?

Something just isn’t right with our vaunted Republican leadership… with the exception of a few timid forays into the morass that is the DeMarxist fiscal nightmare… you’d never know that we were being governed by the Conservative juggernaut that caused the greatest political upset in decades.



Somebody ought to tell Mr Boehner that tweeting and twittering isn’t going to get it. You can’t run this thing by remote control. Tweets, twitters, Skypes and other evil sounding names may be okay for the flash dissemination of news and the like. It’s never going to take the place of a principled leadership standing up and calling the Marxists on every single lie, distortion or outright invention out of whole cloth that they utter.

That’s what leadership is about. You don’t allow the opposition to make an issue its own and then sit on your hands and hope it will go away or, like so many establishment Republicans, try to ride it out doing weak and lame-assed damage control.

The reason that the backbone of the American electorate, the Conservative Patriot movements, have been so restive and uncertain is just that. We don’t see a consistent Conservative voice getting our message out and nailing the DeMarxists by calling them out on their lies.There have been flashes of brilliance in an otherwise murky landscape.

Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor seem to be the only Republican leaders in the whole crop who get it. I’m sure there are those out there who feel that I’m painting these guys with too wide a brush.

I remind you that this is the race of our lifetimes and that in fact it will determine whether or not America shall remain a free country of free people.

Obamanomics: You Can’t Have It ‘Cause I Want It. It’s Too Good For You.

No matter how you slice it, just about all of us have had all of Barack Hussein Obama’s non-existent recovery… or his delusional monetary policies… forget Geithner and Bernanke. This economy is Obama and Obama alone… if, and that’s a big ‘if’, with the questionable leadership of the Republicans who ‘came in like a lion’ and are currently slinking around in the background, trying to figure out how to get out of all that bold talk about how they were going to be the forefront of the Conservative Revolution.



This isn’t what we sent them to Congress for, folks… not by a long shot. The Repubics (thanks, Mark, it just sounds so much like what they are) have been distancing themselves from Paul Ryan’s proposed cuts.

What’s really sticking in my craw, and probably a lot of yours too, is that His Imperial Wannabe and his entire rotten regime are so imminently beatable. Him and his Senate have absolutely nothing to run on… nothing! And yet we are witnessing a Republican Party, and most especially a leadership, which is working hard to lose it all for us.

They pretty obviously have forgotten who put them in office. Some weak Repubics are just going along to be part of the herd. Sorry… not good enough. To those establishment Repubics who think they have hijacked, or somehow or another suborned, the Tea Party Patriot movements… you’ve shown us just what and who you are. The debt ceiling issue may very well turn out to be the leadership’s swan song as far as the Conservatives/Tea Party/Patriots are concerned.

There are very few families, or singles for that matter, who have not been affected by this recession/depression. We’re all pretty sore about it. People do know who’s responsible.
I’m predicting a large scale RINO hunt.

Stir The Soup.

There’s an old saying out there, ‘We don’t light the fire, we just stir the soup’. Last week, on the 13th, I wrote that there was a strong affinity for Donald Trump among the Patriot Movement. Apparently, some out there took this as an endorsement of Mr Trump for a presidential run. While there’s no doubt that Mr Trump would be incalculably better than the Marxist incompetent we’re trying to prevent from destroying our nation outright, it was not an endorsement of Donald Trump.



While he undoubtedly has many attributes that are badly needed by our side, he’s also going to be wearing a huge target on his back. They’ll go after him like they’ve gone after Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann. Not that I think that Donald Trump is unable to take care of himself. As he has proven on numerous occasions, he’ll stand up and go toe-to-toe with just about anybody. The reason they’ll attack him is the same as Michele and Sarah. The reason the left is going after these two ladies is that they are absolutely terrified by them. Could you see any of the leftists debating any of these three people in any setting that wasn’t rigged by the Lame Stream Media? No, I can’t either.

The ‘Repubic’ (thank you, Mark Levin) establishment… which could be called the anal establishment, to judge by their actions if not their characters, is none too happy about them either, and would and are doing everything their warped pea-brains can cook up to discredit and marginalize anyone who threatens their stupid, hidebound, hierarchical thinking. Their way of doing things and their inability to confront Democrats for years, in anything other than losing compromise, is largely responsible for the situation we find ourselves in.

We’re sick and tired of the Republican intransigence when it comes to the Patriotic Reformation sitting on their doorsteps. These old fools have been sitting out on the sidelines lining their careers while the country went to hell under their ‘expert’ management, and are trying to get us to do much the same again.

I’m not sure how the Republican race is going to shake out. No one in their right mind will be at this stage. Besides, there’s lots of agitprop and misdirection out there as well. Easy to spot… just check out any LSM outlet. Meanwhile, keep your eye focused on the goals we have laid out… fiscal discipline, smaller constitutional government, border security, national defense.

Paul Ryan’s plan isn’t perfect, but it’s a great first step. It takes six trillion dollars out of the income stream of the US Government and out of the hands of the Marxists, which since Obama came to office are largely one and the same. We have to keep our own people from bargaining and compromising it all away. Now, that’s a crying shame.

Don’t take your eyes off of them for a second. It’s sad we have to watch our own as much, or more, than we do the enemy.

Disgusting Display: Obamao’s Manifesto… MarxMarxMarx, And Then Some More Marx.

Is there anyone out there that has yet to understand that Barack Hussein Obama, and his radical twisted ideology, is the figurehead of the planned destruction of America? Obama’s speech was one long demagogic rant in which he trotted out all the Marxist saws… it was Saul Alinsky, William Ayers, Frank Marshall Davis and Jeremiah Wright… all over the place. It was communism’s ugly face exposed for all to see.



But that wasn’t the really sleazy sickening part. That came later in the speech when he went down the Marxist wish-list of dependent entitlement recipients, from seniors to autistic and developmentally disabled kids, and everything and everybody in between. It was low… very low.

Watching the news cycles, and reading as many of your comments on the subject as I could get to, has me convinced that the vast majority of Americans haven’t bought it and are not buying it now. His attacks on Paul Ryan and other conservatives was not at all well received out here in the hinterland, and was highly reminiscent of Obama’s excoriation of members of the Supreme Court at his first State of the Union blather. I’d love to see Hizzoner try to debate Paul Ryan.

For the life of me, I never did understand this BS about Hussein the First being some great orator… I think he sucks. He’s got the cadence of a high school cheerleader… must come from having to spend all that time swiveling that lying neck of his back and forth between teleprompters. The problem with that technique is it forces you to deliver in what are stanza-like sentences, and after you’ve heard one you’ve heard them all. That’s why Biden can’t stay awake during one of his glorious leader’s agitprop spiels… and didn’t ol’ ‘Jumpin’ Joe’ do it once before during an Obama slumberfest?

Obama intends to cut nothing!. His smoke and mirrors are just far worse than the pathetic attempt to pull the nation’s wool over its eyes by Mr. John Boehner and the establishment Republicans. Hey, John! We know how to research John… apparently better than anyone on your staff anyway. We can not go on this way… Boehner sold us out, plain and simple. His whining is getting on my nerves.

We have to defeat Obama and the Marxists. There is no alternative. But, I’m not sure we can afford Mr Boehner. He’s going to sell us out on the debt limit. Get on the phone or computer… barrage the Capitol switchboards and crash their computers. We need to tell them straight up that we will primary them.

A Second Look At The So Called Budget Deal.

No, I haven’t had an epiphany regarding our leadership. We want to trust them and we want to believe what they say. It’s just that we’ve been led down the primrose path before, so we’d have to be certifiably nuts not to be a little bit skeptical.



I was listening to Larry Kudlow, who caught my attention with a different take on John Boehner and his leadership. He’s quite impressed with what Boehner has accomplished, pointing out that the 38 billion dollars are cuts to the base line budget. That translates to some 500 billion dollars in budget reductions over the next ten years. It sets the spending back to pre-2008 levels. That is hugely important. But it’s only part of the story.

The DeMarxists, Harry Reid, Barack Hussein Obama et al, got it put to them. They got their clocks cleaned. Not only that, but it set the stage for the battle over Paul Ryan’s budget proposal later on this month. You’ll never see it on network TV, or PBS and the liberal print media. It was actually fun to watch… Obama and Reid placed all their eggs in the basket when they banked on the Republicans taking it on the chin for shutting down the government once again. It was also fun watching the Lame Stream Media decry a few tourists who may be discomfited by our national monuments being closed. It was a tawdry exercise in yellow journalism, but no more than we’ve come to expect from the LSM.

There was a lot of speculation among Patriot friends of mine about just how gun-shy Boehner and the Republican establishment were going to be over an impending ‘government shutdown’. They got their noses bloodied the last time they allowed the DeMarxists to control the issue and paint the Republicans as heartless baby killers. Ironic, since the DeMarxists are themselves directly responsible for the murders of millions of unborn and near-born children, many of them black babies.

Boehner didn’t flinch. It’s no secret that I’ve been critical of John Boehner’s leadership. It’s also true that I’m impressed with his handling of the situation. He was determined, did not waver, earned the respect of his membership, and managed to give the DeMarxists a bloody nose in the process. He also managed to keep Obama and Reid from whacking military spending… which they clearly stated was their intention.

All in all, I have to give the Republican leadership high marks on this one. It is but the first of many battles to come, and we Patriots cannot take our eyes off of government for a second. Don’t underestimate the amount of weight we can swing on these issues. The Patriot Movement is here to stay, and we are a huge political force to be reckoned with.

Excuse My Skepticism.

As a recovering Republican, I’ve seen the best the party has to offer… specifically the Reagan years which are, for the conservative, the benchmark against which we measure those who would claim the mantle.



For decades this has been the party establishment’s prerogative. They picked the candidate. In all their hidebound, inarticulate, muddle-headed wisdom, time after time they picked the wrong people at just exactly the right time in our country’s political history, to bring us utter and humiliating defeat.

We witnessed the rise of the new media and the advent of the nationwide political action movement which became the Tea Party Patriots. We drove both the liberals and the establishment ‘Repubics’ (thanks, Mark Levin) crazy trying to find some leadership… someone they could isolate to destroy, thereby (they thought) destroying the movement once and for all.

They’ve been spectacularly unsuccessful as we all know, and the best they can do is to attack our conservative women leaders… viciously and repeatedly, as though this would have the desired result. I have my own private theory that at least some of the vitriol is because most of our women are babes and most of theirs are stone dogs. If you need proof of that, just look at a picture of Michele Bachmann or Sarah Palin next to Janet (basso profundo) Napolitano, or many others of the hairy-lip-and-arm-pits cadre of lovelies that Hizzhonor Barack the First has orbiting around his regime.

I’m still skeptical about the guts and the steadfastness of our current leadership. Once again we find them content to let the DeMarxists define the argument and, because of their out-and-out timidity, the leadership looks to cave and make a last-minute ‘deal’ that will, at best, cut 39 billion dollars from the budget. Not exactly the bold strokes we’ve been looking for.

We hear the Republican leadership making ‘tailored for patriot ears’ statements. One gets the idea that, given their own volition, Paul Ryan’s comprehensive program for salvaging our economy would be frittered away in meaningless compromise and backroom deal-making.

Ryan’s Express.

I really like this guy… extremely articulate, crystal-clear thinking. Paul Ryan’s presentation of the Republican budget proposal was a blockbuster. It was just exactly what the Tea Party Patriots have been demanding all along. Over six trillion dollars in cuts, over the next ten years. The left is in absolute apoplexy.

It’s absolutely hysterical watching them sputter and stutter, and drag out their shopworn 1960s slogans. The same old Marxist saws we’ve heard every single time someone wants to enact some meaningful reform… “We’re starving old people and li’l children”… “we’re forcing granny to fight the kitty for his salmon dinner”. It’s not going to be nearly as productive for them this time.

The American electorate has had plenty of time to examine the Marxists’ language and tactics during the regimes’ mad rush to absolute power. We’ve seen them go through the routine time and again… from granny and the kids, to minorities, to sob-stories for the illegal aliens. We’ve watched as the Democratic Party suborned the democratic process through lies and trickery… so sure of their superiority that they no longer bothered to cloak their evil.

Well, we were watching… and waiting… and we were heard loud and clear last November. Now, this is the Patriots’ (like Ryan) clearheaded approach to the problem which treated less seriously will, not might, completely destroy this country. These measures are clear and very well considered. If enacted they would eliminate the debt by 2020 or so.

They are by no means as draconian as the DeMarxists are trying to make out. The federal government is so huge and so bloated you could carve away half of it and never know the difference. Think about it… what function does the federal government have in most people’s day to day existence? For most of us it’s very little, and for the most part government is an impediment rather than an asset. I saw a ‘Tweet’ that asked, “If non-essential services can be cut with little effect, why do we pay for them in the first place?” Why, indeed?

Too bad that Ryan won’t run for president. But then, he promised his constituents and he’s honoring that promise. He is, after all, a man of honor. Something we could use a lot more of.

GOP Leadership – Where Do We Go From Here?

I’m hoping against hope that the leadership of the Republican Party isn’t sitting back, smugly waiting for the DeMarxists to self destruct. Actually, the Republicans have more experience at that than the DeMarxists ever have.

Like many others, I’ve watched the Grand Old Party completely dismantle a virtual sure thing on more than one occasion. The last time they were in power was such a miserable example of total disregard for the oft-repeated warnings of dire consequences coming from their own base, that it’s actually painful to remember. It’s strongly reminiscent of the regime in Washington right now, marching ahead with blinders on, regardless of the will of the people or the dire warnings of its own DeMarxist commissars.

The issue back then was the same as now. I hate to pile on poor old George Bush again, but with bullet-proof majorities he failed to stop the out-of-control spending of his Congress. It was clearly a leadership issue, and that leadership issue and the ramifications of that failure are with us today.

One of the big hurdles the Republican leadership have to get over is just that… convincing the considerable numbers of Republican, Conservative and Independent voters who still, to this day, have an endemic distrust of what they judge to be ‘the same old failed GOP leadership’. The ones who continually support candidates that the grassroots will not support. The same ones who refuse to recognize that the power in the Republican party has shifted out of Washington, and now rests within the hands of the millions of members of the Conservative Patriot movement. Ignore us at your peril. And no, we’re not buying into the ‘third party trap’ that got Billary elected. Plainly speaking, third parties are for chumps and moon-gazing lightweights.

There are some bright lights in the Republican lineup… Jim DeMint, Pete Sessions, Eric Cantor, Mike Pence, Kevin McCarthy and Paul Ryan. There are others as well. Let us not forget the ladies, principally Michele Bachmann, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and Sarah Palin, who is shaping up to be a powerhouse in her own right. Then there is Sharron Angle, who is giving Dingy Harry Reid nightmares. These Conservative ladies are tough and scrappy. The leadership should take notice.
That’s what we are talking about!



Paul Ryan, in conjunction with some of the other ‘young guns’, has introduced a Conservative road map for the country. The GOP leadership should give it serious consideration. Is it perfect? No. But have we seen anything better or more coherent come out of the Republican leadership? No. It’s sure as heck a great starting point. Speaking of starting… the Kagan nomination would be a great place to make a stand. Whether it’s successful or not, it would show the American people that at least someone in the leadership has some testicular fortitude… which has been sporadic.

The Republicans have a long, tough row to hoe between now and November. Along the way, they’re going to have to convince us they can provide the Conservative leadership it’s going to take to turn around this disastrous Marxist march to mediocrity and economic slavery.

A Tale Of Two Republican Parties.

On one side we have the party Conservatives. On the other we have the RINOs. You’ll notice there is no middle category here. I think that all but the densest, tunnel-visioned and hide-bound ‘old guard’ Republicans have figured out that the Patriot Movement (what they and the lame-stream press love to call ‘the Tea Baggers’) is no flash in the pan, and has just grown stronger despite the worst the leftist press and the Democrat spin machine (and some Republicans) could do to denigrate it and drive wedges into it. Their breathless characterization of a third party fell flatter than last week’s beltway champagne.

It is, by any measure, the new voice of the Republican party and, in point of fact, is not being controlled by the Party but is pulling the party along behind it. The new Conservative Republican party has a bright future, with a highly motivated and self-aware membership made up of solid conservative patriots who are determined that the principles of freedom that make this country great will be upheld.

President Reagan unknowingly describes the aims of the Patriot Movement:



We have come very close to losing our country. We might yet. The forces of freedom have been marshaled to stop the march to totalitarianism none too soon. We have some really promising rising stars in the party. Wholesome, grounded Conservatives like Wisconsin’s Paul Ryan, who single-handedly carved President Obama’s arguments to shreds at the health care summit. We have Michael Pence, John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Michelle Bachmann and others.

Then we have the RINOs. There is really no room for these people in our party going forward, their names are familiar to us all and the damage they have caused well known. Several are facing primary challenges as we speak, others will retire rather than face the just retribution of their constituents. Those who are not up for election this cycle such as Lindsey Graham (amnesty, green jobs, carbon tax) will be voted out next time around. John McCain faces a strong challenge in Arizona and none to soon. After all the damaging and totally wrong-headed stuff he has signed off on you’d think he’d learn. Now he’s out to try and regulate the vitamin and food supplement industry so that the government can destroy more private business. Maine’s Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins are two more that need to go.

The Democrat party is not the party of my grandparents, or my parents for that matter. It is a party of committed ideologues run by Leftists, Progressives, Marxists, Communists (name your poison), whose only goal is to fundamentally change this country into that of a socio-Marxist state. There are some principled people left in the party, albeit isolated and powerless. The very nature of the party mission does not permit dissent nor foster independent thinking or opinions. Those who do not march in lockstep with the leadership are treated as outcasts, in some instances given the treatment that resulted in Senator Joseph Lieberman leaving the party.

This is the face of the enemy. We have to win. There is no option.
This is why a new, vital Conservative Republican party is being forged.

Humbug – Obama Dog And Pony Phony.

Humbug is quaint Americana for something false, phony or underhanded.
President Obama was his usual arrogant self as he demonstrated bi-partisanship to the seventeen Congressional Republicans who attended his health care extravaganza.

Repeatedly interrupting Republican speakers and refuting factual representations made to him, the President’s idea of bi-partisanship comprised of one hundred and nineteen minutes of Obama-dominated campaign mode lecturing. The Washington Times stated he looked very professorial… a title he never held.

Republicans were held to a mere one hundred and ten minutes while the twenty one Democrats attending the meeting were allowed one hundred and fourteen minutes, during which they dredged up story after story of constituents medical woes in support of their boss, some of which stretched the imaginations of those present. It was the usual Democrat hysteria-inducing sob-story tactic we’ve all heard so many times before. You’d think they’d wise up to the fact that we’re on to it.

For the Republicans’ part they pretty much stuck to what they said they’d do, which was to stipulate that the entire piece of legislation should be scrapped and started over from scratch.

Obama was also offended at Representative Eric Cantor (R) Virginia, for bringing the two thousand four hundred page health care bill to the meeting and prominently displaying the bill in front of him as he spoke. The President interrupted Republican speakers, refuting statements and giving somewhat unlikely anecdotes. At one point Obama got into a peeing match with Senator John McCain, where he petulantly quipped “We’re not campaigning here John”.

All in all, the Democrats not only didn’t cover themselves with glory, they looked pretty silly. The Democrats are trumpeting the use of the reconciliation process, since President Obama has said he wants an answer from the Republicans within six weeks, presumably giving Democrats enough time to see if they can come up with the requisite votes.



That’s not at all a done deal either, for all the Democrat bloviating.
Eric Cantor, the Minority House Whip, and his team have come up with some pretty solid calculations showing that the House Madame may only be able to come up with about 205 of the 217 votes she needs.
