A Watched Pot…

Though in this case it’s boiling, and Israel is watching the rapidly devolving situation right next door in Egypt. They are looking at having to re-evaluate the situation in terms of the worst-case scenario.

Binyamin Netanyahu and Hosni Mubarak, May 2010.

Although nominally enemy states, Israel, Egypt and the United States have cooperated at the highest levels of military command and with the intelligence services of all three countries, and you can bet your boots there’s one heck of a lot of communicating going on right now between all of them.

Hosni Mubarak probably has a better chance of riding this thing out than the Shah of Iran did when faced with Khomeini’s revolution. But if he doesn’t, the generals who now so staunchly support him will give him a gentle nudge into a nice dignified retirement some place, and the country will choose a new president in accordance with its constitution.

Egypt, though a muslim country, is largely a secular nation. How far the radical Islamists will get in influencing events in Egypt is difficult to judge at this point. One thing is for sure… the generals are not about to relinquish power to some revolutionary cabal. Right now, the army holds all the cards. They have, at least to this point, shown remarkable restraint in dealing with the protesters.

Our friends in Israel remember the old days, when they faced an openly hostile Egypt just over the border. No one wants a return to those days, but it’s far better for Israel to remain in an advanced state of readiness than to be unpleasantly surprised.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Stuxnet worm continues to chew its way through Iran’s military industrial complex, happily burrowing down and leaving havoc in its wake.
Bon appetit, little worm!

Middle East Crisis Looms – Obama More Ineffectual Than Ever.

I’m one of those who sees another Iranian revolution in the events now taking place in Egypt. It’s just too eerily reminiscent of the events leading up to the overthrow of the Shah, after Jimmy Carter refused to support him as an ally of the United States.

The Islamist radicals throughout the the region are licking their slavering chops, hoping that the unrest in Egypt becomes a general conflagration through which they can impose their rigid sixth century ideology on the middle east and establish their worldwide caliphate… if only the pesky United States would get out of the way.

The enemies of this country have had their best chance with Barack Hussein Obama. The hardcore communists in this country, not a few of whom reside in the Democrat side of the aisle, are doing everything in their power to prop up their failed golden boy… along with the ideological toadies in the Lame Stream Press with their slavish devotion to all things Obama, which is to say, all things Marxist.

What is glaringly apparent is that Barack Obama, far from being the mover and shaker his hacks make him out to be, is in fact probably the single biggest laughing stock in the world. We’re living in a world which is on the precipice. The world needs a strong, stable, militarily powerful United States and a stable dollar to bolster economies around the globe.

Barack Obama is as close to a lame duck president as you can get. Let’s just hope, with the new Conservative Republicans in power, that we can politically isolate Obama until he can be voted out of office.

Flash Point – Regulatory Fascism.

Even as Barack Obama was trying to convince everyone that he had become a committed centrist and business-friendly policy was his game, the second half of his speech was still laden with promises of more government intervention and control of business.

He speaks of pumping federal dollars into more ‘green’ technology, magically creating tens of thousands of jobs for happy American workers who will walk, bicycle or publicly transport to work singing ‘hi-ho, hi-ho’… or was that ‘The International’? By the way, did you know that the Green Party platform is the International Communist Manifesto in all but name?

While Obama is playing the centrist straw man, his Marxist minions over at the Department of the Interior and at the Environmental Protection Agency have taken up pillaging the nation right from where ‘centrist’ Obama left off. Another campaign promise to his nutcake base, Obama, unable to get cap and tax passed through the Congress even when he had overwhelming majorities in both the House and Senate, has unleashed the regulatory dogs from hell on the United States coal industry. He did say that’s what he was going to do in the campaign.

This country really does need to pay attention when these people speak. If you do enough talking, and the DeMarxists do a lot of it, you’ll tip your true hand sooner or later. All I know is he’s purposefully destroying the livelihoods of tens of thousands more Americans… and it’s all behind such a fraud.

Coal mining today is the most environmentally conscious and regulatory controlled industry in world history. Coal mining (at least on the product end) is clean and all pollutants are rigidly controlled. The boilers and power plants that burn coal today burn clean and without pollutants to air, soil or groundwater.

This may turn out to bite Obama on his skinny posterior. The people in those mountains have taken on the government before. They’ll fight… but they shouldn’t have to.
The Conservative Republicans have got to jump on this… and fast!

“Flat”… “Unconvincing”.

Those are some of the more common reactions I’ve heard. Some of our readers have been a little more pointed in their comments about the Obama Show on Tuesday night… like a lot of Conservatives who have come to the conclusion that Obama never says anything new. He just rehashes stuff he’s already said, putting fresh lipstick on the pig time after time.

Actually, I had decided not to listen to Obama’s little extravaganza for just that reason. I felt I knew what he was going to say. The radio that I listen to when I’m writing betrayed me, and once President Obama started speaking I left it on.

I wasn’t disappointed. He spouted about 1950s Russian Sputniks and roofing companies reinventing themselves. He talked about all the neat things he was going to do for business instead of to business. Gee, that would be a nice change.

Barack has a problem. He can get people to listen to him. Getting people to believe him is another story altogether. He is learning the lesson that all liars learn sooner or later. You can only go to the well just so many times and then even the thickest airheads start seeing the light.

He still has the considerable power of the bully pulpit… he still has the slavish devotion of the main stream media and their influence, greatly diminished though it may be.
What he doesn’t have is the American people. Obama has been tried in the court of the mind of the American citizen and was found wanting.

Prom Night.

The only thing missing was Barney Frank as Prom Queen… well, queen anyway. I can’t tell you how uncomfortable I felt when our chosen warriors were duped into the ridiculous pose of sitting with the opposition, to illustrate some sort of new ‘tone’ at the State of the Union show.

Many times I’ve talked about and warned the Republicans about letting the opposition control the message. Time after time we’ve allowed them to do it to us. And time after time they have succeeded, simply because they were allowed to.

I thought with the advent of the new Congress we would see a Republican party of much sterner stuff than the wishy-washy, panty-waisted establishment types which we’ve all come to recognize and despise. The only reason the left engineered this touching nouveaux amis was so that the visual of the huge Republican numbers wouldn’t be broadcast to millions of American homes during prime time. It’s a significant difference in numbers, and it shows.

What bothers me most is that a ten year old could have seen this coming a block away. The left playing off of the emotional backwash of the Tucson tragedy, the whole thing reminiscent of the anti-gun, anti-conservative frenzy whipped up by the Democrats, after James S. Brady was paralyzed during the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan by John Hinckley Jr.

The only reason the clearly unconstitutional Brady bill was enabled to be passed was that principled Republicans did not make a stand on behalf of the second amendment.
It’s time, it’s long past time, for our Conservative Republicans to assert themselves.

Another Barack Hussein Obama Achilles Heel In Waiting.

As if a 14 trillion dollar deficit, with his name and that of his party all over it, isn’t enough already. As if the House hasn’t zeroed in on: (a) The outright repeal of health care; (b) Dismantling its various components and provisions and starving more onerous items of funding to cripple them and keep them from harming the people or the economy.

Barack Obama has done everything just exactly as though he was driving our country into economic destruction. And it sure as heck looks to an awful lot of us out here that he’s done everything according to a scripted plan.

My guess is that the Democrat Marxists, in the first flush of victory after Obama was elected, vastly overestimated the political capital that the victory had afforded them. The Marxists in the administration and in Congress misinterpreted the 2008 election results. More importantly, they completely misread the mood of the nation.

One more Achilles heel out there awaiting Mr Obama is the energy sector of the economy. With rising gas prices and the threat of even higher gas prices by next summer, the specter of four dollar a gallon gasoline is not going to endear Obama to anyone.

There are tens of thousands of men who are not working because of Obama’s drilling ban. These men, their families and friends, the very communities that helped elect Obama, now detest him.
Obama may just find out that he has sold off so much of his political soul that there’s none left.

It’s A Patriot Thing, Anyone Can Make A Difference.

And that’s it in a nutshell, as they used to say. There have been many weighty opinions offered as to the success of the viral phenomenon known as the Tea Party or collectively the Patriot Movement, which name sort of encompasses all such groups.

It’s confusing to the liberals because they can’t find anyone to attack except Sarah Palin, who seems to be the target of the day every day. They must fear her terribly to hate her that much. Go, Sarah!

The Marxists can’t figure us out because we are diametrically opposed to them and their every precept. They are simply incapable of being honest with themselves. This in turn co-opts their sense of right and wrong and engenders attitudes of fear, spite and envy. A false sense of entitlement and anger towards those more successful in life. Perennially unhappy and unsatisfied, they inevitably seek to influence those around them to their own level of self-induced misery.

The difference between the liberal and the patriot could not be in greater contrast. On one hand, we are presented with doom and gloom and ever more strident calls for more of our treasure, both personal and national. On the other, we have the conservative patriot movement where the tempo is upbeat and the atmosphere is full of promise for America.

Our Conservative Congress is starting to make itself felt and will soon start flexing its muscles. What has made the difference so far amongst the ranks of the patriots, is that individual Americans have taken up the challenge in their own neighborhoods. They’ve thrown down the Conservative gauntlet at school board meetings and town council meetings across America.

We didn’t have some big government union or other Marxist front groups with their orchestrated miniature Nuremberg rallies. We didn’t have all that government/union funding either. Only the change in our pockets.

What I’m telling you is that you make the difference. Whether on the phone, talking to a neighbor or a friend… you are the conservative movement.
You are the heart and soul of America.

Mea Culpa Again (Sort Of).

We have a lot of great readers out there and we cherish every one. Recently, we have had a few unplanned and unavoidable gaps in our publication. Just a day here and there, but I thought some clarity was called for.

I have a full time career outside of writing. It demands a lot of my time normally, but during the winter months especially. Dee, the very capable editor of this column, also has a full time career and has proven to be a gifted writer filling in for me. It takes several hours to write, edit and distribute our articles to our affiliates, who then distribute to their readers.

With the intense work schedules there are times when we just don’t have the time. Our first choice is to go to the archives and see if something there will work. Then there are the times, such as happened this last week, when we couldn’t even do that.

We were under no illusions when we started this column that it was going to be easy. Our sole purpose is to get the Conservative Constitutional message to as many people as we can. As anyone who has read my columns for any amount of time will tell you, I’m an equal opportunity opinion editorialist. I’m just as quick to jump on and excoriate the Republicans as I am the Marxists… quicker in fact.

The situation and the economy demand nothing less than our dedicated vigilance. Conservative principles have gotten us this far… a political comeback and reversal of epic proportions, for a party who had been written out, walked over and buried by virtually every liberal political pundit (and not a few of our own) in the country.

Here’s where it gets tough for the Republicrats. Had it not been for the Patriots, had it not been for the Conservative blogosphere and the new media, the Republicans would not have had the prayer of the proverbial snowball in hell. I think they’re finally starting to get the picture, given some of the things we’re seeing in the Congress.
We’re proud of the small part we’ve been able to play in advancing this great cause.

What The Heck Is Going On?

I’m hearing some disturbing things about some of the people who we of the patriot movement were instrumental in getting elected to office. The whole RINO issue chaps the hell out of my hide to start with.

I’m not sure whether it’s because we’re stupid or because we don’t know how to vet our candidates. Or perhaps it’s because these undercover creatures are just so darn good at hiding who they really are that we get hoodwinked every time. I’m not buying any part of that argument.

The RINO (for the uninitiated, RINO stands for Republican in name only) has caused incalculable damage to the country because of their collective perfidy. It would have not been possible for the DeMarxist regime to pass as much of their onerous nation-destroying legislation as they have without the collusion of the so-called moderates.

Some of the names are the same ones we’ve seen time and again… selling out their party and their nation for personal gain. We’re familiar with the machinations of Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins. I won’t belabor you with the names of the RINOs out there right now, we’ll be focusing on them in detail as the electoral cycle rolls on.

Chris Christie was elected on a wave of patriot enthusiasm and endorsement. He said and did all the right things to get our support. We sort of expected it from Scott Brown… after all, a conservative Republican from Massachusetts would be a liberal just about anywhere else.

I hope the things I’m hearing about Christie aren’t true… or if they are, I’m glad we found out now. The new Conservative Republican party cannot abide people who consciously erode the principles of conservative governance.

The ‘New Tone’ Is The Same Tired Tune.

In the first place, I don’t want my representatives cozying up to the Marxists who have done, and are doing, everything in their power to destroy this country. So I urge you, as Patriots, to contact your representatives and tell them we won’t appreciate their little tete a tete with the Democrats at the State of the Union speech.

Mark Kirk and Dick Durbin announced that they will sit together for the State of the Union address. “Misery acquaints a man with strange bedfellows.”- Shakespeare.

As for the ‘new tone’… it’s newspeak for idiots. The DeMarxists have reverted to their passive-aggressive role with guilt, vituperation and outrageous falsehoods towards all. This is their new tone. What it means is surrender for Conservatives, in order to gain some semblance of cooperation from the left side of the aisle.

It’s the same sort of political scam they’ve pulled for almost forever. What’s even more remarkable is that Republicans have fallen for it time after time. All the leftists have had to do, up to the present time, is yank out the guilt card and we’d all cower down and go into our sickening accommodation mode.

Being sold out and sold down the creek by generations of our own party has left most conservatives a skeptical bunch… much more prone to asking pointed questions in their pursuit of the truth. Our response to the assault of the leftists has got to be as pragmatic as it is simple.

Say ‘no!’… Just say ‘no’ and keep saying ‘no’. The DeMarxists back down virtually each and every time they are confronted with principled truths. If they can’t change the story line they’re out of luck.
That’s our job, folks… to sink the liberals and keep them sunk.

The Obama Quickstep.

The lamestream has proclaimed the genius of Barack Obama’s apparent shift to the right. There may be some brain-addled conservatives who have taken Barry’s recent outreach to Republicans to heart. In fact though, I don’t think you’ll find many conservatives out here at all that would trust the ‘new’ Obama, who is once again pretending to be the centrist he ran on in 2008.

We saw how long that lasted. This apparent move to the right is every bit as ephemeral as Obama’s middle class tax-cuts and just about as sincere. Obama will never stray very far from his radical communist upbringing. It’s deeply ingrained in his psyche. It shows in his every move, in his every utterance. It’s apparent in every association he has.

With the Conservative Republican revolution coming down around his ears, Obama doesn’t have much choice but to appear willing to work with Republicans. Even as our young Mr. Obama was making nice with the new Congress, he was scheming away some more of your freedom.

Obama is now creating policy by presidential fiat. In this case, he has signed a presidential directive enabling regulatory agencies to write their own regulations without congressional oversight… as a matter of fact, without any oversight at all.

There’s a name for that. We became really familiar with it in World War Two. It’s called fascism.
Gee… hasn’t our little Obama come a long way?
Let’s just make sure he exits stage right in 2012.

Obama’s Signature Legislation Is His Achilles Heel.

Barry has several such heels… but health care needs to be first on the list for a number of reasons. Aside from the deficit itself, which the health care debacle will make infinitely so much worse, the crushing, stifling effects of the regulations, strictures, and penalties of Obamacare’s monster 2,700 page tome, Republican legislative analysts are still finding hidden provisions and legislative booby-traps designed to make them difficult to remove.

This week, Republicans take up the task of removing this plague on the American economy. Short story is that they cannot stop repeal in the House. Not so in the Senate. Democrat insiders confidently, if a bit blindly, decry that any such legislation would go down in flames, citing the continuing Democrat advantage in the Senate.

I’m not so sure. There are 21 DeMarxist Senators running scared… that is, running for election in 2012. Many, if not all, of these people will be challenged by candidates from the oh-so-despised Tea Party on one level or another. Some come from virtually unassailable Democrat districts, such as Nancy Pelosi and the San Francisco Bay Area’s really nutty liberal base. But others… they aren’t nearly as fortunate and are already on the radar as having voted for the bill. A virtual political death sentence in some districts, so soured have the public become with the DeMarxists and their march to totalitarianism.

Some might find that siding with Conservatives is safer than voting to uphold the legislation, the support of which is threatening to end their political lives. They know that despite the frantic covering fire of the now totally discredited LSM (lame stream media) and all the agitation propaganda the White House has thrown into it, Obama’s health care takeover is in America’s bullseye.

No one is forgetting that Obamacare was forced upon us in the most nefarious circumstances possible. Close to 70% of America want that bill gone and it’s Congress’s job to take the lead.

Make Obama veto that bill every week between here and 2012. Starve every provision before it can get started. Force votes whenever possible, to make darn sure Democrat voting records are illuminated in the conservative press and blogosphere.
Let Obama’s own signature legislation be his swansong.

Brave New World Indeed.

Not one that Huxley would have envisioned… but plenty close enough for most of us, thank you very much! Trying to quantify the challenges facing this nation is a daunting task in itself. Especially with a country still largely in the grip of the greatest recessionary period since the great depression. A populace still raw from the economic collapse of 2007-2008.

I know I’m not alone in saying that these days I think things over several times before spending anything. It’s just become second nature. You’ve heard of the ‘bunker mentality’? Well, we have a ‘bunker’ economy. Despite the reassurance of having a somewhat stable tax picture for the next two years, individuals and most especially companies are intensely careful with expenditures. There is a tendency to hoard resources, an entire nation like squirrels before the first snow.

The economy is showing signs of life. It’s not out of the woods… not yet… not by a long shot. But the stock market has been showing growth… manufacturing is beginning to stir… what manufacturing hasn’t been forced overseas, that is.

We are being invaded through our southern border and we have a federal government which stubbornly refuses to do one of the only constitutionally mandated responsibilities it has. We’re fighting terrorism around the world and we’re fighting two wars.

Our one ally in all of the middle east is herself on the brink of conflict. Israel’s border with Lebanon has become the focal point of tension as Hizbollah continues to solidify its hold over that country. The border on the Lebanon side is said have a series of fortified villages linked by tunnels. They have amassed an astounding 40-50 thousand rockets and missiles.

Everywhere we look there is the potential for conflict. Venezuela’s communist adventuring will have to be dealt with eventually. North Korea continues its bellicose demands and threats. China is the greatest ultimate threat to this country and the one we least understand.

Aldous Huxley wouldn’t recognize our Brave New World.
We, as Americans, have got to keep our eyes on the goal we have set for ourselves and our party… a return to Constitutional law and government… a limited government with less job-stifling regulation on business.

Truth Is Consequential.

For two long years this column, along with most other conservative writers, have trumpeted the mastery of the conservative message in the face of the rising tide of Marxist totalitarianism. The very mission statement of this column, “The light of freedom and truth in the defense of our republic”, is a clarion call to action.

Today’s conservative is most likely to be in the Patriot Movement or be in sympathy with the Tea Party Patriots’ aims. No surprises there, 60 to 80 million American voters agree very strongly with the Tea Party ‘platform’, if there is such a thing. If we have a platform it would have to be the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence.

Consequences… they’re all around us. To most of us, consequences are the result of ill-considered actions or decisions. To the Marxist liberal there can be no constraint from mere consequences, because of the ‘purity’ of the liberal progressive motive. Purity of intent is a rising tide that lifts all boats in the murky shadow world of ‘communism light’. History is strewn with the debris of such philosophy.

The inner workings of the Marxist movement were displayed as never before, due to the intensity of the exposure provided by the conservative news media and the conservative blogosphere. The consequences of the last election haven’t all been felt yet… far from it.

That election tsunami was the direct result of the American voting public’s exposure to the monstrous statist ideology of Barack Obama, the main stream leftist media, his DeMarxist Congress, and the patriotic constitutional movements known collectively as the Tea Parties. It wasn’t even close. Americans prefer the Constitutional Republican/Tea Party by way over 60%.

Truth does count and people sense it. They seek it like a moth to flame.
Truth and freedom… they are insuperable.

More Political Circus From The Left.

I don’t know why we should be surprised. I called this one just between me and myself. Don’t recall if I said anything to Dee or not, but Wednesday’s disgusting usurpation of what had been billed as a ‘memorial’ service for the victims of Jared Loughner’s madness was just about what I thought it would turn out to be. I felt certain of it when I heard that the big Kahuna announced he was on his way out to the sagebrush from Washington.

It took on all the trappings of one of Obama’s rock-opera (mostly opera) performances, and looked a lot like a rehearsal for the campaign trail. They’ve pulled this same stunt so many times now that no one even pays attention, as is evidenced by the silence other than condemnation from the rest of the country.

They had T-shirts draped over each chair in the audience area well before the ‘event’ even started. It was held at the University of Arizona at Tucson, also evocative of the 2008 campaign, where hordes of enthusiastic but otherwise politically naive  college kids could be recruited, especially when lubricated by free rock concerts and beer.

It was a winning formula for the Marxists in the past. They turned the late Senator Wellstone’s memorial into political theater, about as cheap and tawdry as it can get. Gratefully, Arizona’s service didn’t quite plum the depths that Wellstone’s service did.

What it was, was a flare-lit example to the country that the leftists were more than willing to pile all this on the backs of the bereaved families and the others that were wounded. They’re not even being given the courtesy of mourning for their loved ones in private.

Will there be a backlash? Yes, but it will join the other backlashes, building like another groundswell across the nation as the Conservative Congress goes to work and the sides square off for 2012.
I say, bring it on!

Diminishing Returns.

Sort of like what has been happening to the leftists lately. Especially noticeable has been the public’s tepid response to the LSM’s instantaneous and vitriolic attacks against the conservative right.

They’ve pulled out all the stops. They’ve cranked up all their cranks, of whom they have such a delightful variety. They have Marxist members of Congress strutting around proclaiming new anti-gun legislation, which means nothing and will go nowhere.

This entire sad episode has backfired on the DeMarxists in ways they haven’t even figured out yet. Even some LSM types are a little disturbed at the way the leftist press and the political left have colluded to turn the heinous Arizona shootings into a political circus maximus with all the trimmings, including an out-of-control political hack sheriff, running around spouting outrageous, over-the-top rants at conservatives.

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik is as radical a partisan hack politician as it is possible to be. He had his other moment of fame with his vocal opposition and refusal to enforce the immigration law that Arizona passed. The left’s appeal is ebbing. Well over 60% of the people of the United States of America identify with the Tea Party Patriot movement.

The left is lashing out with all the fury of a jilted lover. The more the American people reject them and their lies, the more desperate they become.

More Tales From The Darkside.

In the aftermath of the LSMs’ (lame stream media) and the DeMarxists’ instant assault on the Conservatives, after the unspeakable tragedy in Arizona, we have Marxist politicians trying for face time by pontificating on the evils of the First Amendment and the Tea Party… not to forget Rush Limbaugh and every other Conservative radio and television personality.

Sarah Palin has been set aside for special treatment by the DeMarxists and their sycophants in the lame stream press. They have all but accused her of being an accessory to murder. The only problem was… that the ‘right wing’ radical, that they were instantly trumpeting around the world, turned out to be a left-wing nutcase who read Marx and Mein Kampf, and who kept an occult shrine in his parents’ backyard. As I reported yesterday, he was referred to as ‘creepy’ by some of those who knew him.

Well, the entire LSM and much of the Democrat Party got caught with its drawers flying in the wind. And, once again, gave the American people another unimpeded look at the craven, low and despicable tactics used by the left. Like everything else the left does, this is just one more episode in their continuing campaign to destroy this Republic.

It’s our sworn and solemn promise to stop the communists who would take our country and turn us all into the slaves of totalitarian statism. We will have to defeat them in the local school boards and in city councils… in the halls of state governments and in the halls of Congress.

How Low Can They Go? Pretty Darned Low.

The left and the ever slavish and obedient lame stream media have plumbed new depths of low political stunts. Trying to tie the Tea Party or the Patriot Movement to the tragic and senseless shooting of Arizona Representative Gabrielle Giffords.

Five others, including Federal Judge John Roll, were killed. A total of eighteen people were shot by 22 year old Jared Loughner… described as a leftist loner. Despite this, or ignoring it completely as they usually do, the lapdogs, intent on following the party line, are loudly condemning all things conservative.

Hey… we’ve been this route before. The left always uses tragedy as a launching pad. Just exactly as they did in 2008. Remember? Conservatives cannot let the liars of the left spew their poison unchallenged. This is going to prove to be a pretty good gut check on our young guns. Let’s see them take the message away from the Marxists for a change.

Yes, the shootings were tragic. The loss of life was appalling. Our prayers go out for the recovery of Representative Giffords and the rest of the injured. Prayers are scarce solace for those who have lost a loved one, but we offer them nonetheless.

Predictably, the left is going to attempt to ramp this thing up into a gun control issue, and attack the first amendment at the same time. Equally predictably, there are a couple of knuckle-headed DeMarxist Representatives moving to do that now as this is written. It smells a lot like the Brady Bill redux. That bill was unconstitutional from the day that it was proposed. These will probably get short shrift also, in the face of the new Republican majority.

The fact that the shooter was one of theirs is small satisfaction in that some seriously disturbed person, whether on the left or the right, would be ridiculously difficult to spot if they had no more track record than Loughner. After all, there’s no law against being a ‘creep’, as one college student who had a class with him said. So he was a little creepy and he was prone to disruptive outbursts in class. What I’m driving at is that everybody knows someone a little, or very, creepy. There simply was no way to determine that he was going to go off.

Maybe they’ll find he planned the whole thing very carefully. But why target the Congresswoman? Who knows what triggered his twisted mind as he plotted his deed?
It remains to be seen how low the LSM outlets will go to demonize the conservative right, but if it’s anywhere near their ratings that could be very low indeed.

Watch The Left, Do The Opposite.

The antithesis of Barack Obama and the Marxist left is the American Patriot Movement. The left’s usually reliable tools are shopworn, and they are having one heck of a time getting anyone to listen to the class warfare rhetoric.

Barack Obama has had his ‘come to Jesus’ moment, he is abandoning his hard-left kook brigade and they aren’t one bit happy with their ‘Anointed One’. Their Messiah turned out to be a one-trick pony… and he wasn’t even particularly good at that.

Obama is an aberration of history fueled by George Soros and others, aided by an inexplicable mass so-called white guilt syndrome. I’ve never been able to figure this one out. My family hasn’t owned another human being this side of the Roman conquest. I sure as heck don’t feel responsible for something that occurred in the mid 1800s. The very concept is laughable.

The symptoms of the syndrome were easy to spot. Usually sane, reasonably balanced people, who normally scarcely gave a thought to politics, were running around proclaiming the historical importance of an African (literally) American in the presidency, and heralding an end to racial strife and division. That none of these things came to fruition is historical fact now, and Obama’s unassailable political citadel is no more.

The ascendancy of the Constitutional Patriot is a fact that not even our own Party has figured out, much less the DeMarxists. Some of the Republican ‘leadership’ is going to have to learn that lesson the hard way, most likely. We didn’t put you into office again so that you can sit in Washington and compromise our country and our freedoms away, with a foe that cannot be compromised with.

Compromise is another word for defeat. We don’t wish to compromise with the Marxists at all… for any reason.
Now do the job we sent you to Washington to do.

Bringing The Party To The Republicans.

No doubt walking around, congratulating themselves on their brilliant victory, the establishment usurpers run to the microphones in a not-so-transparent attempt to usurp the Patriot movement, the Tea Parties if you will. They’re like energy leaches… they latch on and feed off of the energy of the Patriots.

They do not have a lot in common with our Constitutional patriotism. These folks seek only power and self-glorification. Everything after self is lost on these people.

We’ve pointed out to the establishment Republicans, several times, that ‘you flippin’ people shouldn’t even be here’. There shouldn’t even be a Republican Party. The Republican Party was a disaster after the 2008 election. It was in absolute disarray, with a leadership afraid of its own shadow. If it could be called a leadership.

The rise of the American Tea Party movement is a phenomenon that will be written about for decades to come. It was, and is, a visceral reaction by the American people to the ‘wrongness’ of the Barack Obama Marxist vision of a subservient and servile America, content to exist as our leaders think fit.

At first, when the Tea Parties sprang up from seemingly nowhere, reporters talked of a momentary fad having no political legs. Driven by the weight of phone, email, and visits to lawmakers’ offices, Republicans noticed that the Patriots were beginning to sway national opinion. Serious business. There was still a lot of talk on both sides of the aisle, mostly centering on how much time it would take the infant movement to fade into obscurity. Bad bet. It was growing at a spectacular rate back then and it’s still growing after over two years.

The Republicans really do need to come to the party… the Conservative Republican Patriot Party.

Americans, Stand Up To The Statists Now!!

Due to work commitments, both Skip and I are unable to produce an article today. With yesterday’s reading of the Constitution to the House, I thought this article from March 13, 2010 could be an apt reminder of why this should be necessary.
(Dee, editor).

Now is the time, wherever you are is the place. This is the quintessential battle to save representative democracy for ourselves and our posterity. It boils down to a fundamental struggle between right and wrong, good and evil, darkness and light.

In this war between statist ideology and the rule of law as represented by the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the principles of the founders, there can be only one outcome. Freedom loving American Patriots must prevail against the forces of the extra-legal, extra-Constitutional, Marxist-style tyranny now attempting to gain absolute control of this country OUTSIDE THE LAWS OF OUR LAND AND THE FRAMEWORK OF OUR CONSTITUTION.

Barack Hussein Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the rest of the Democrat leadership are in a criminal conspiracy to steal the freedom of three hundred and seven million Americans. They are breaking parliamentary rules and Constitutional law left and right, without regard to, and directly in opposition to, the will of over three quarters of the people of the United States of America, to force the so-called ‘Obama Care’ bill through on a vote they expect to take early next week.

This massive attempt at the government theft and control of seventeen per cent of our Gross National Product, with the end result of the absolute control of the American people in mind, has nothing to do with health care and everything to do with statist tyranny. Barack Hussein Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi care not one wit for the American people or this country. They only know the thirst for raw power that is the hallmark of the Marxist/Leninist ideologue.

Many times through this battle for the survival of this wondrous land, I and others like me have repeatedly called for our fellow Americans and Patriots to stand forth and be counted. Let your voices be heard for truth and freedom. Now is perhaps the time when our need is the greatest. We must make these ‘lawmakers’ know that we know what they are about, and far more than that, we know who they are!

We must call, write, fax, email and bombard their offices in Washington D.C. and in their individual districts in the various states. Demand answers! Be respectful but tell them exactly what you think and that you know exactly what they are up to.

Once again, it’s OK to be angry but don’t be out of hand. You have every right to be angry when these supposed ‘representatives’ of the people have been anything but. Don’t take no for an answer. It’s our country and our lives and the lives of your children that are at stake. Call and keep calling…visit offices and keep visiting… email and keep emailing.
God love you for your efforts and God save this great nation.

The Cost Of A Bus Ticket.

A local news item caught my attention yesterday, on San Francisco’s CBS5 television station. It concerned the city’s municipal transport system, or ‘Muni’.

While the transport organization rumbles on with a $21 million deficit, new ticket kiosks are being built at two locations. Looks  like possibly a good idea at first glance. Sell more tickets, more passengers, more fares, more income to cut the deficit.

These are not the common or garden type kiosks though. The sort that look like either a burger trailer or Uncle Henry’s shed. They are state-of-the-art contraptions, constructed of stainless steel with bullet proof glass. The cost for the pair… $829,000!

Has the Muni gone loony? Well, perhaps not. You see, it’s not their money that they used to purchase these hi-tech boutique des billets. Neither is it funded from the city coffers… if there are any left, that is. It’s another wonderful investment, courtesy of the federal stimulus program. In other words, you bought them.

The terms of the grant insisted that Muni build new structures (with all the expensive bureaucratic procedures associated with anything ‘new’ in San Francisco), rather than perhaps ‘stimulating’ an existing empty office or retail unit, of which there are plenty.

This is just one of the ludicrous earmarks that are hitting every American in the pocket. The ‘use it or lose it’ excuse doesn’t vindicate the recipients of these giveaways, either.

While businesses and individuals are trying to make ends meet, don’t they feel any shame at using taxpayers’ money for projects that would still be highly questionable if it was their own money during an economic boom? Perhaps not.

A Fresh Wind Blows.

It cannot begin to dispel the immense stench of the rotting carcass that is Barack Obama’s government and Congress… but it’s a start, a bare start, or more correctly, a starting point.

The Conservatives are hitting the beach running, and it’s a good thing too. We have plenty of very hard work, and even harder choices to make, in the next two years. The run-up to 2012 has already started, with some some of the usual suspects named ‘considering’ possible runs for the presidency.

There’s no one out there so far that I’m really excited about, though there are some with whom I have some real reservations. I know Dee is busily ferreting out information on runners and possible runners, and we’ll talk about them from time to time.

I’m not going to fall for the Sarah Palin run gambit though. If she decides on a run, she would be a very formidable opponent for anyone the Marxists threw up there against her. She is simply the most exciting political figure of our time. She generates the same level of excitement that John Kennedy was able to command. The Marxists had better hope she doesn’t run. She may decide not to this time. She may decide she’s more powerful and flexible outside of a campaign, traveling the nation in support of Conservative candidates and issues.

I like Newt Gingrich… he’s a nice guy, he’s really bright too… but much too mired in the political past and far too willing to compromise on certain issues. He’s simply a big government Republican. He’s not one of the two I mentioned though… I’ve saved them for last.

Mitt Romney lost me when he championed a single-payer type health care system for the state of Massachusetts. He says he launched it with all good intentions and unscrupulous people came behind him and changed it in the state legislature. Duh! Sorry, Mitt.

The other one is Mike Huckabee. Once again, a nice guy but he’s not presidential material. If you question him closely enough, he’s dangerously soft on illegal aliens and how to deal with the millions already here. He’s simply not tough enough. He also raised taxes on Arkansans, something not likely to endear voters to him should he run.

It’s time to saddle up for the run to 2012 and the sunset of the Obama Marxist coup against the American Republic.

Oh Say, Can You See?

Some of the emotion that must have consumed Francis Scott Key, the night that he penned what was to become the sacred anthem of our country, has rubbed off on me. I can imagine what it must have looked like. Anybody who has ever been in the infantry knows about night time illumination and pyrotechnics. I’ve always thought it would make quite a show if it weren’t so deadly.

Francis Scott Key beholds the American flag still flying over Fort McHenry at dawn, September 14, 1814. Inspired by the sight, Key pens the "Star Spangled Banner", later to become the national anthem of the United States. Image courtesy of Library of Congress.

The British Navy, the most powerful military machine in the world, couldn’t defeat Ft. McHenry. Other accounts told of uncounted numbers of bombs, rockets and mortar shells lighting the night sky and falling on the fortress. At the height of the British bombardment, Key looked up to see our flag still flying.

We are watching the 112th Congress hit the ground running, with all, or most, of the conservative agenda plainly marked in the Republican arsenal. We have just come through our own two year Fort McHenry. The Conservative Republican banner is flying high above the Capitol once more. Don’t screw it up this time guys. An immediate vote to repeal Obamacare stands a darned good chance of passing the House, reflecting the Conservative promise to quickly illuminate lawmakers’ stances on the bill by calling for the quick vote.

Many Democrats may be reluctant to be seen supporting the health bill. With more than 60% of Americans opposing government health care it has quickly become the new third rail of American politics, right up there with the deficit. It would be a very rocky road for the repeal in the Senate but, as wacky as Senate politics can be, who knows?

Pass or not, it is but the first shot across the bow of the Marxist minority. The next move will be to choke the life out of Obamacare and some of these runaway rogue agencies and bureaucracies. Spending has got to be slashed at all levels of government.

‘Inquiries’ into the money trails from TARP and the various stimulus disasters should be undertaken, to see how much of that money can be tracked, retrieved and returned to the American people.

The Marxists will use all the usual tired assaults, but the 112th Congress need only remember one thing… be the party of No! Let them bleat and whine. Do not give an inch. We do not compromise with treason.

Looking Ahead.

Time was we could safely plan ahead with some confidence, knowing that a certain stability could be expected. I understand now the admonitions of those who lived through the great depression. They cautioned against unnecessary spending and persisted in counting every penny… several times. We, who had never really known a day of want, shrugged them off as ‘old fashioned’.

We, in our turn, lived through the economic doldrums of the Carter administration with its 22% interest rates, high unemployment and the presidency that became synonymous with ‘stagflation’ and the Iran hostage crisis. This present depressed recession has made Jimmy’s economy look smokin’ hot.

We’ve always known that big business and politicians manipulate economies for monetary gain and political advantage, which amounts to the same thing. This ‘stagcession‘ has put new emphasis on the lessons our elders tried to teach us about thrift and, most of all, self sufficiency. We are probably the least self sufficient population in American history.

This economic black hole, into which the Marxists are determined to plunge us, has had the effect of forcing the average American to observe everything he does in detail. Therefore, he begins to watch everything else as well. We’ve had to agonize over the smallest expense while we’ve watched the massively bloated monstrosity that is our government openly conspiring against we the people.

The new Conservative Republicans have an immense undertaking at hand. It’s the political equivalent of the allies at the Normandy landings… Obama’s government and it’s depredations, Hitler’s fortress Europe.
God speed, 112th Congress.

Now Is The Time.

I know now how our patriot forefathers, good British subjects all, could have been forced into acts of civil disobedience followed by open rebellion against what they saw as a government out of control and committing illegal acts against the citizens of the colonies.

Freshman members of the 112th Congress

I, and many other patriots, have been experiencing these same emotions. It’s not easy to stand by and watch the Marxist cabal shred the Constitution and the rule of law. They used to do it undercover and in secret. Now they are doing it out in the open.

I’ve taken on the Republican establishment often enough that no one is going to accuse me of carrying their water. The Republicans did do a magnificent job of political guerrilla warfare while severely outnumbered in both the House and the Senate.

The Marxists got Obamacare passed, but it cost them the House as their illegal and unconstitutional behavior was stripped bare and exposed for all of America to bear witness to. The Republicans delayed, used the power of the patriot movement to influence lawmakers and staged no less than seventy six filibusters. Many times we watched as the Marxists caved in front of a determined minority resistance.

We will be tested as no majority party has ever been. If anyone is under the misapprehension that the Marxists are somehow going to be tamed by this defeat and ride off into political obscurity, they have another thing coming. We’ve seen them exposed… these people are confirmed ideologues and only defeat, absolute defeat, will stop them.
Welcome, 112th Congress… your war awaits.

It Will Have To Be Brave New Year.

Remember Al Gore, when he came out with that smarmy ad in which he says “The Earth has a fever”, or some such? Well, it has a fever ok, but not the one created by Gore’s fevered brain.

America today is faced with an entire globe that’s as flammable as gasoline on a hot summer’s day. With the exception of Europe, at least for now, just about anywhere you care to pick there are conflicts… actual, on the back burner, on the front burner or on the planning table.

South America is now starting to look like Russia’s Cuba being replayed with Iran’s Venezuela. To our direct south is a Mexico devolved into a narco-state… its government mired in a perpetual system of sanctioned corruption. No longer satisfied with just throwing their hopelessly poor and uneducated at us, they are actively sanctioning terror by giving tacit approval to the known terrorist traffic across its jurisdiction, disguised in the tens of thousands flooding across our undefended southern border every year.

Africa is a slowly boiling sludge pot of suffering humanity, mostly due to the gentle ministrations of the muslims’ genocidal assaults on Christians and other sub-groups. With China now in the mix in Africa, anything can happen.

The middle east is a leaking powder keg long overdue to go off, with many otherwise liberal Israelis coming to realize that there can be no peace with terror. No pointless and militarily indefensible limp-wristed political ‘land for peace’ will satisfy this enemy. The rest of the middle east watches closely in fear of a nascent nuclear monster in Iran and secretly, and recently not so secretly, hopes that Israel takes them out first.

Iraq is remarkably stable, with a new democratic structure which seems resilient even in the face of continued pressure from terrorist groups.

Afghanistan may not be the war Americans want to fight. It’s no secret that the Marxists in our government, led by the Marxist-in-Chief, have done everything in their power to ensure US defeat in Afghanistan. This is Obama’s war, he made it so. It has become a showpiece of his weakness, for all the world to see and judge.

North Korea and China are becoming dysfunctional symbionts, with the bipolar North Koreans playing nutcake roulette with an increasingly angry and impatient South Korea. Anything is possible here too… N. Korea, Iran, Venezuela… Russia is not the great player that she wants us all to believe, but she needs watching nonetheless.

Europe. Well, the best thing you can say about them is that there are no hot conflicts there, but just keep in mind that Europe was the launching pad for the two greatest slaughters of human beings in world history. So, nothing is impossible there.

It’s damning that, so far, the best solution that our present government can come up with is ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’.
