Mullahs Purge Nuclear Scientists And Technicians.

I can truthfully say that I fully expected this. It’s part and parcel of the way out-of-control totalitarian societies operate. It’s amazing how much alike they really are.

Bushehr Nuclear Plant

Perhaps I should let the poor seventh century throwbacks off the hook a little. It’s increasingly apparent that the Revolutionary Guard is calling virtually all the shots. They have garnered so much power to themselves that they form what, for all practical purposes, is a shadow government. They know how to play the game though… they always make sure that there’s a tame Mullah or two around to rubber stamp their activities which is, these days, just about everything.

The Revolutionary Guard would be the equivalent of Hitler’s Waffen SS divisions. Hitler’s secret nuclear and guided missile technologies were also under the gentle tutelage of the SS. Dictatorships cannot survive without having control of the populace, either through elections or through out-and-out military coup. Fostering unrest in neighboring countries is another hallmark of totalitarian states.

There is a double threat with dictatorial regimes in the middle east as well. We have the added factor of a religious war, perpetrated by members of a death cult who have sworn to destroy the west including, specifically, the United States of America.

The vaunted Iranian Intelligence agency (also under the auspices of the Revolutionary Guard) quickly scoured the country’s nuclear sites. They then proceeded to execute many supposedly guilty nuclear scientists and technicians that Iran can scarcely afford to lose. But (and this is another characteristic of totalitarian societies) the government of Iran murdered these men without hearing or trial, because that’s how dictatorships maintain control over their populations… by intimidation, fear and the brutal use of unbridled power.

No wonder I had heard that foreign scientists and workers had been exiting the country as fast as they could, after the discovery of the Stuxnet worm. I have a pretty good idea that, for all their bravado, the worm did far more damage than they wanted to admit. The viciousness of the reprisals and the fact that the men were killed, without so much as a sham trial, is an indicator of that.

My best guess is that the Stuxnet worm isn’t done with our Iranian friends yet. It may have several nasty little surprises left. I don’t have any insight into this other than a strong suspicion that they may have left some cute tricks behind like altering the programming of their missiles and fire control systems.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch.
